Nashville Event Venue Feature: Travellers Rest Historic Plantation & Museum

From the Carton House to the Hermitage, there are numerous historic homes in the Nashville area. Built in 1799, Travellers Rest was the home of Judge John Overton during the Civil War and the Battle of Nashville. The property includes the home, porch, a newly built barn, gardens, old trees, a Civil War exhibit, and a staff that embodies Southern Charm.

History Meets Hospitality

A&M Events:  You guests will be delighted by the Southern hospitality and charm that Travellers Rest exudes. History is embedded throughout the property and your guests can be transported to another time through character-guided tours and Peach brandy tastings.

Rosemary Fields, Travellers Rest Event Coordinator:  Travellers Rest is the oldest house museum open to the public in Nashville. The property captures the true essence of Southern charm with our magnolias, white dance, and huge wrap around porch. At the end of an event, you leave knowing a little bit more about Nashville.

Rustic Vibes

A&M:  Simply stepping onto the grounds makes us crave sweet tea and lemonade. The setting goes hand in hand with café lights, reclaimed wood, mix-matched vases, and wildflowers. Dressed up or down, the space feels homey and inviting.

RF:  You can host outdoor events on the historic grounds under our ancient magnolias with the historic house as the backdrop, a cocktail party in the formal garden, or a luncheon on the Southern wrap around porch in the cool shade. You can also host an indoor event (for up to 300 guests) in our modern-day crib barn with a Tennessee limestone fireplace, high ceilings and wood beams.  It’s only 15 minutes from downtown, but the venue feels like you’re still out of city limits.

Custom Packages & Group Tours

A&M:  From reenactments on the front lawn for history buffs to baby showers on the porch for Southern belles, Travellers Rest offers flexible options for groups of all sizes. The house tours are intimate and engaging while the barn and grounds are the perfect canvas for mingling.

RF:  We now offer new pricing options for other special events other than weddings. We are also now booking group luncheons and tours. You can enjoy lunch on the porch of the house before or after a house tour.
